It's the first question every buyer asks: new or used? In Pakistan's market, the honest answer is "it depends on how you value your money over the next five years" — not just what you can afford today.
Depreciation Hits Hardest in Year One
A new car can lose 15–20% of its value the moment it's registered. Buying a one- or two-year-old vehicle lets someone else absorb that initial drop while you still get a car with most of its useful life ahead of it.
This is especially true for popular local-assembly models, where a lightly used unit can be nearly indistinguishable from new but priced meaningfully lower.
New Cars Win on Warranty and Financing Terms
If predictable running costs matter more than upfront savings, a new vehicle's manufacturer warranty and typically lower financing markup can offset the higher purchase price over a 3–5 year loan term.
Our Rule of Thumb
If you plan to keep the car 5+ years and want zero surprises, buy new. If you want the most car for your budget and are comfortable relying on a certified pre-purchase inspection, a quality used vehicle is usually the smarter buy.
