Auto financing offers in Pakistan can look similar on paper but cost very differently over the loan term. Understanding three levers — down payment, markup rate, and tenure — helps you compare offers properly instead of just looking at the monthly figure.

A Bigger Down Payment Does More Than Lower the Monthly Bill

Every rupee of down payment reduces the principal that accrues markup for the entire loan term. A 30% down payment instead of 10% can meaningfully cut total interest paid, not just the installment size.

Markup Rate Compounds — Small Differences Add Up

A 2-point difference in annual markup rate sounds small but compounds over a 3–5 year term into a noticeable difference in total payback. Always compare the total payable amount, not just the advertised rate.

Shorter Tenure = Less Interest, Higher Installment

Stretching a loan from 3 to 5 years lowers your monthly payment but increases total interest paid, since the principal accrues markup for longer. If your budget allows it, a shorter tenure is almost always cheaper overall.

Use a Calculator Before You Commit

Our financing page includes an EMI calculator that lets you test different down payments, tenures, and rates against a real vehicle price — try a few combinations before signing anything.
